Jeremy Hackett, Chairman and Co-Founder of Hackett Hackett was founded by Jeremy Hackett and Ashley Lloyd-Jennings on London’s Portobello Road in 1975 selling fine quality second-hand traditional British clothing and accessories. In 1983, they opened their first shop under the name “Hackett” at New Kings Road in Parson’s Green, London. As the supply of quality second-hand clothing is limited and unable to meet the market demand, Hackett started to manufacture garments by themselves. Hackett is very well-known as a British men’s wear brand from London and still stands for quintessential British style to this day.

What is Design Concept? Concept basically means, – a broad abstract idea or a guiding general principle  which results in the formulation of a plan. A design concept is the main idea behind a design which provides direction. It’s the roadmap that designers use, to seek guidance for, to finally get the finished design. A design concept is abstract, yet without its binding forces a design might fall apart. A design concept is the glue that holds everything together  in the design. Thus, every design decision made should always refer to the original design concept so that we do not lose direction and get disoriented while creating a design. A design concept comprises the underlying logic, thinking, and reasoning of a finished design.

       JASON WU,  a 32-year-old fashion designer born in the capital of Taiwan, Taipei on 27th September, 1982. Always liked pretty little things the the idea of creation. Curiosity of how things were made was one of attribute in driving him to be a part of the fashion industry. When he was 5, Wu's parents who owns an import-export business, acknowledged his artistic aspirations.  His mother would drive him to bridal stores so he could sketch the gowns displayed behind the windows.  As a kid, Wu has always liked the idea of transformation and he started experimenting with fashion by purchasing Barbie dolls . He remade their clothes, repainted their faces and restyled their looks. Thus, the young designer collected around 150 dolls. Photo Source Photo Source Photo Source      When I was a kid, I had that idea in my mind that, fashion designers  create crazy outfits  showcased on the runway, that I wouldn't be able to move comfortably while doing daily activities if I wear them or I would most probably not wear them out on a daily basis. It made me think, 'Where and who are the people that design clothes that we wear daily?'. However, my perception of what do designers do change as I grow up. Fashion designers are the ones that create beautiful outfits not just for special occasions but also for daily wear, and being a fashion designer requires passion, a lot of hard work and sleepless nights.  They need to build a concept first, do research about it, brainstorm ideas, sketch, create pattern, source fabrics, try if everything works, then finally making their collection, showcase them on the runway, working on marketing their collection and it just...
